You will have the opportunity to join the Tire & Performance Science team to support tire development and vehicle manufacturers through vehicle dynamics investigations and further development of virtual tire development capabilities.
Support Product Development programs through assessment/benchmarking of the performance of tire/vehicle systems through modeling, testing and simulation.
Support Technology Development programs through development of new tire/vehicle test and simulation capabilities, enhancement of our predictive technologies using the latest data analysis tools in conjunction with up to date data science methods.
Further develop the creativity and innovation capacity of the team with a focus on virtual tire development.
Cooperate with vehicle OEM’s, external companies and universities to shape our virtual tire/vehicle development process for efficiency, quality and robustness.
Cooperate with simulation and testing teams on tire force & moment testing, instrumented vehicle testing and simulation.
Cooperate with tire design team and provide recommendations for tire design tuning to meet tire/vehicle performance objectives.
To join our team you will need:
The candidate must have completed a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Control Theory, preferably in Automotive field.
A PhD is considered as an asset.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must.
Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
1-5 years of professional experience inside automotive industry (e.g. at a vehicle OEM) or academia for vehicle dynamics.
Experience with numerical methods.
Experience with data acquisition / analysis software.
Experience with instrumentation and sensor installation is an asset.
Experience with vehicle modeling and vehicle dynamics simulation software (e.g. CarMaker, VI-Grade, CarSim).
Experience with tire modeling and force & moment prediction software (e.g. MF-Tire, CD-Tire, F-Tire).
Experience with assessment/benchmarking of performance of tire and vehicle systems.
Experience with driving simulator (e.g. Vi-Grade, MTS, static or dynamic) is an asset.
Experience with chassis and/or steering system development is an asset.
Experience with tire testing and prototype tire evaluation is an asset.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong background in vehicle dynamics or related area.
Knowledge of data acquisition and processing software, MATLAB.
Knowledge of functional system development approach (V-model).
Proficient computer programming skills.
Team player with enthusiasm and initiative.
Interest in the automotive world, testing activities, virtual development.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
